Pearl Spring, one of the 72 famous springs in Jinan

Pearl Spring is the 14th spring among the 72 famous springs. As there is a South Pearl Spring in the moat in the southeast corner of the old city of Jinan, this spring is also called North Pearl Spring. It is located on the southwest side of the courtyard of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shandong Province on Quancheng Road, Jinan City, Shandong Province. Because there are many spring eyes in the spring pool, and the bubbles are gushing out, interspersed with each other, reflecting the sunlight, like pearls, it is called Pearl Spring. The spring pool is a rectangular pool, built with stones, 43 meters long, 29 meters wide, and 3.8 meters deep. Pearl Spring and 43 spring pools in the rectangular area of about 1.5 square kilometers between Daminghu Road and Quancheng Road form the Pearl Spring Group, which is one of the four major spring groups in Jinan. The water of Pearl Spring flows northward from Yudai River into Zhuoying Lake, and then flows into Daming Lake through Baihuazhou. The lake water flows out from the east outlet of Tie Gong Temple and the north water gate, and flows into Xiaoqing River through Luo River (North Moat, Caishizhuang River).
