Six hours disconnected from the world
Hiking in the Jino Mountain Badou Valley rainforest. Jino Mountain is so much fun!! 🐒
First time hiking in the rainforest 🪵🌴
Jino Mountain is really incredibly fun!!
Saw a ghost-faced spider
Ate sour ants 🐜 (I felt they tasted like mango!)
Captured some of the best photos and videos of my life at Jino Mountain
Since coming back, I’ve been reminiscing about my day as a wild person in Jino Mountain!
Ps:
▪️ We went in October, which is the rainy season. Over 85% of the Badou route is waterway, so be sure to wear rain boots or creek shoes.
▪️ No need to buy rain boots from Taobao and bring them—they’re heavy. There are plenty sold roadside here in Xishuangbanna. I bought mine a day in advance for 14 yuan a pair, plus insoles for a total of 17 yuan. They’re very comfortable. Just be careful not to buy recycled ones.
▪️ Wearing shorts is fine. I thought there would be lots of mosquitoes and bugs, but we weren’t bitten at all that day.
▪️ The rainforest climate is prone to rain, so it’s recommended to bring a disposable raincoat. It rained on our way back.
▪️ There is signal in the rainforest, so it’s very safe.
Experienced ✔️ tree climbing ✔️ high-altitude swing ✔️ colorful stone face painting ✔️ one-legged swing ✔️ Jino-style picnic ✔️ sour ants
It was truly an incredibly fun and joyful day!
