Who says Hebei is only plains? Less than an hour from Shijiazhuang, there’s a millennium-old ceramic town embraced by mountains—Jingxing Ceramic Water Town!
Not a trendy check-in spot, but more worthwhile than you’d imagine.
🌿 Real Experience
✅ Pure nature is so healing: No glaring neon lights, just old walls built with ceramic jars and pots. When the sun shines, the whole street glows.
✅ Kids love hands-on activities: Pottery workshop 30 RMB/person, experienced masters patiently teach wheel throwing, and kids’ “wonky cups” can be dried at home and fired into shape!
✅ Off the beaten path but rich in depth: The Sui-Tang ancient kiln site is hidden in the village, with well-preserved fireboxes and kiln beds. Walking around telling kids the story of “clay turning into porcelain” is way more vivid than textbooks~
✅ Unique photo spots: Ceramic jar windows in front of the God of Wealth Temple, stone bridges by the river, light and shadow walls of old houses—every snap has a vintage film vibe!
🚗 Transportation Guide
Self-drive: Navigate to “Jingxing Ceramic Water Town” or near “Yu Family Stone Village,” take Jingkun Expressway to Jingshi Expressway, excellent road conditions, about 50 km, under 1 hour.
Parking: Large parking lot at the scenic entrance, 10 RMB per time.
🎫 Ticket Information
Free admission! Pottery experience and ancient kiln visits are free (some handmade projects charge separately).
🍽️ Local Flavor Recommendations
✔️ Kiln-baked sesame flatbread: Crispy outside, chewy inside, perfect with Jingxing tofu!
✔️ Dou Wang vinegar-braised fish: Tangy and appetizing, the old shop is right next to the ceramic workshop.
✔️ Yu Family Heluo noodles: Handmade thick noodles with wild mountain vegetables, simple but unforgettable.
