This is an abandoned lime quarry pit, which a few years ago was used by a film crew leaving behind a sunken ship and wooden houses. Coupled with the black mountain and the lake-blue water pond, it has the characteristics of a Nordic tourist spot. On the day we went, there was heavy rain, which made the mountains appear more profound, and with the mist swirling around, it had quite the desolate end-of-the-world feel of Iceland.
