Advancing into Western Anhui · Reverse Travel for National Day

October 2-5, 2025, 4 days and 3 nights reverse travel from Wuhan with a niche route
Jinzhai - Lu'an - Hefei - Huoshan
DAY 1️⃣ Depart from Wuhan, arrive at Tongtian Waterfall in Jinzhai at noon, no admission fee.
Choose your hiking route based on your stamina; we walked to the small waterfall, which took about 1 hour one way.
Continue to Jinzhai County to visit Meishan Reservoir, admission 30 RMB/person, parking fee 10 RMB/car. After ticket inspection, climb the steps and you can soon reach the top of the dam. Walking, stopping, and taking photos takes about 1 hour to complete.
DAY 2️⃣ In the morning, briefly visit the Jinzhai Revolutionary Museum, then head straight to Hefei and go directly to the Anhui Museum. Although no reservation is needed, there was about a 40-minute queue at the entrance before entering. The cultural and creative products inside are good and reasonably priced.
In the evening, visit Laijie Street, which is very lively. Popular shops require queuing, and everyone was holding a cup of Kawangka, which is indeed very tasty.
DAY 3️⃣ In the morning, the Hechai 1972 Cultural and Creative Park was unexpectedly great for photos and strolling. Lunch was in the park, with average cost performance.
After lunch, head directly to the most important destination of this trip, the Western Anhui Grand Canyon. The drive takes 1.5 hours. Admission is 60 RMB/person, children over 1.2 meters get half price. We chose the adventure route. At the fork, the loudspeaker announced a 2-hour queue, but in the afternoon it was fortunately not that long. For a 6-year-old elementary student (including me), some height differences were a bit challenging and needed a helping hand, but other parts could be completed independently. The experience was quite good (if fewer people, we would want to do it again). After finishing, we stayed overnight in Huoshan County.
DAY 4️⃣ Depart from Huoshan to Yanzi Lake Grand Canyon. As a hiking route, it is quite good. The canyon has places to play in the water, and the waterfalls in the mountains are quite spectacular. As a weather oxygen bar, it is suitable for relaxation and leisure.
