Jiufen (九份) is Taiwan's most famous ancient mountain town. It boasts a classic atmosphere, with houses lined up along the hillside, overlooking the distant sea, and lined with alleys filled with teahouses, cafes, and street food. 🏮🌄

📍 Location
Located in Ruifang District, New Taipei City. From Taipei, take the train to Ruifang Station, then take a bus/taxi up the mountain for ~15 minutes, or take a direct bus from Taipei Main Station (approximately 1.5 hours).

⏰ Best time to visit Jiufen Old Street: Open from morning (~10:00 AM) until late evening. The atmosphere is best enjoyed in the early evening, enjoying the sunset and the lantern-lit nighttime views.

🌟 Highlights

Jiufen Old Street's main alley is lined with snack shops selling Taiwanese sausages, purple sweet potato cakes, and taro balls.

A-Mei Teahouse, a famous teahouse, boasts a classic wooden building lit by red lanterns, making it a beautiful spot at night.
