Pearl Shoal, or Zhenzhu Tan is a stunning travertine-covered platform and waterfall located in the Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park in northern Sichuan, China. It is one of the most famous and beautiful natural features within the park, which is known for its incredible landscapes. As crystal-clear water from melting snow and upstream lakes flows over the broad, gently sloping shoal, the sun reflects off the countless droplets. The effect creates the illusion of thousands of pearls sparkling and dancing across the surface, giving the shoal its name.
