Temple of Avalokitesvara

The Temple of Avalokitesvara is another important temple in Tainan. If you're staying in the old town, you can easily reach it on foot (it's not too far from Chikan Tower, but it's also not too close). The temple itself isn't very large, as it's right on the side of a city street. Built in 1678, it's one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Tainan. Buddhists often come here to pray and make merit. The atmosphere inside the ancient temple is mysterious and peaceful, perfect for a quiet and peaceful time.
