Restoran Ah Peng's Herbal Pork Bone Soup: A Must-Try on Your JB Trip

#favouriteitinerary During our recent trip to Johor Bahru, one of the best parts of our dinner was at Restoran Ah Peng Bak Kut Teh in Taman Setia Indah near Taman Pelangi. This place truly won us over with their signature herbal nourishing pork bone soup. The rich, aromatic broth is made by simmering tender pork ribs with a special blend of over 20 herbs. The flavors are so deep and comforting, making it the perfect dish to wind down with after a busy day.

We couldn’t resist adding a fried egg to the soup, which melted into the herbal broth and added an extra layer of richness and flavor. As if that wasn’t enough, we also got a side of crispy fried pork, which paired perfectly with the soup's delicate, herbal taste. The contrast between the tender pork ribs, the crispy fried pork, and the smooth egg in the soup was absolutely delicious.

Restoran Ah Peng’s signature dish, the bak kut teh, is a true standout – not just for its flavor but also for its healthful qualities. The combination of tender pork, nourishing herbs, and rich broth makes it a meal that feels as good as it tastes. The cozy ambiance and friendly service made it the perfect spot to enjoy this unique and wholesome dish, and it’s definitely one of our favorite stops in JB.
