During my trip to Batam, I took a ferry and had a layover at Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Johor Bahru. The hotel is conveniently located above The ZON Duty Free Shopping Mall and directly connected to the Berjaya Waterfront Ferry Terminal, which provides ferry services to several destinations in Indonesia, including Batam. It also overlooks the scenic Strait of Johor, offering beautiful sea views.

My room featured a simple setup but was clean and comfortable. It came with a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, minibar, tea and coffee-making facilities, and an in-room safe.

The hotel offers complimentary breakfast, a rooftop outdoor pool, spa, and fitness room. Dining options include a Chinese restaurant, a buffet restaurant, and a coffee shop. Although the breakfast spread was somewhat limited, it was decent for the price and offered a lovely sea view from both the dining area and the room.

For those who enjoy shopping, the duty-free mall just downstairs has a moderate but varied selection of products, perfect for picking up a few items before your ferry trip.

Overall, Berjaya Waterfront Hotel is a convenient and comfortable stay for travelers in transit or those heading to nearby Indonesian islands like Batam.
