#March Good Places 2025
Address: 7-2 Shiroyama-cho, Kagoshima-shi, Kagoshima Prefecture
Near the museum is the famous Restoration Territory "Naigo Takamori" statue and surrounded by the traces of Tsurumaru Castle, which still has a moat and part of the city wall.
Kagoshima itself is a stronghold of reform planning, rich in historical traces, and those who like to study history will be quite happy. The history center also showcases the development of Kagoshima, from ancient times to recent modern times, and presents the symbolic facilities as well as streets from various eras one by one. There are also previous customs, cultural heritage and even historical research information from Kagoshima Prefecture. There is also a lot of information about the Bakumatsu Restoration. Friends who are interested in Japanese history should not miss it!
The Dawn Pavilion is a local historical and cultural archive, built in the Tsurumaru Castle site. There are many three-dimensional models in the museum that introduce the ancient and modern history of Kagoshima.
