The Guozigou Bridge, a crucial road junction between the Urumqi and Yili highways, is the only way to reach Sayram Lake. It's China's first dual-tower, dual-lock cable-stayed bridge and the largest, most important, and tallest bridge in Xinjiang.
The first cable-stayed bridge in Xinjiang was opened to traffic in September 2011. The clear height from the bridge deck to the valley bottom is over 200 meters. It is the core project of the Northern Xinjiang Grand Loop. The design is ingenious. The approach bridge winds through the flowers and connects three high mountains into one, greatly saving the time for the people of Yili to travel to Urumqi.
