[Kanagawa Prefecture/Genjiyama Park] A park in Kamakura that is rich in nature

Mt. Genji straddles the back of Eishoji Temple and Jufukuji Temple.

This park was built in 1966 to commemorate 800 years since Minamoto no Yoritomo entered Kamakura.

The park features a 2m-tall Minamoto no Yoritomo statue, which serves as its symbol.

In autumn, the leaves turn a beautiful red 🍁 and the great views make this a popular spot.

When I went there, students were on an excursion, laying out sheets and enjoying their lunch.

The statue of Minamoto no Yoritomo looks out into the distance, as if he is looking back at the good old days of Kamakura that he built.
