Kamakura is a quietly moving poem. Its old streets resemble scrolls, and the wind from Kumagawa Marsh mingles with the fragrance of sea salt and matcha, inviting one to peruse time as they walk. Ancient temples, like herons, stand amidst the whispering forest, almost echoing the Tale of Genji. Trams slowly trundle between alleyways and the coast, a bridge between present and past, each stop a new scene, each pause a new thought. Most moving of all, the unforeseen moment of looking back, the interplay of fallen leaves, sunset, and the smiles of passersby, becomes life's small joys. Kamakura isn't a tourist attraction, but a rhythm of life, a short Zen poem written with footsteps.
