Kita Kamakura "Chocolat CALVA" and a Plum Blossom Stroll 🌸

Kita Kamakura is often associated with temple tours, but it's also dotted with hidden cafes where you can enjoy a sweet moment. This time, I stopped by "Chocolat CALVA." This chocolate specialty shop, located along a small alley near the station, is a delightful experience. The aroma of cacao wafts through the air upon entering, making you feel like you've wandered into a small workshop.

We recommend the rich chocolate gateau and seasonal bonbons. This is a great place to take a break from your Kita Kamakura stroll, soaking up the bitter and fragrant aroma of high-quality cacao. Gazing out from a small table, you can enjoy the tranquil atmosphere that's so characteristic of Kita Kamakura.

Afterward, we headed out for a stroll around the temples, searching for plum blossoms. Plum blossoms begin to bloom in the grounds of Tokeiji and Engakuji temples from February to March, signaling the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The white and red plum blossoms, set against the stone pavement and ancient gates, were so beautiful I couldn't stop taking photos. The tranquil scent of plum blossoms, combined with the lingering chocolate aftertaste, made for a truly relaxing walk.

📍 Recommended Route
• Kita-Kamakura Station → Take a sweet break at Chocolat CALVA
• Admire the plum blossoms at Tokeiji Temple and Engakuji Temple
• Stroll through the narrow alleys in search of spring

Sweet chocolate and the aroma of plum blossoms. It was a luxurious seasonal combination that can only be experienced in Kita-Kamakura.
