This light hiking itinerary is also suitable for taking the elderly to a slow tour of the plateau. There is no round trip on the hiking route, so please use it with confidence.

Itinerary map:

1. 8:30｜Depart from Takayama Nohi Bus Center
2. 09:30｜Arrival at Hirayu Onsen Station (Transfer to bus)
3. 10:10｜Take the Kamikochi shuttle bus and get off at Taisho Pond
4. 10:30-12:30｜Taisho Pond→Tashiro Pond→Tashiro Bridge→Left Bank of Azusa River→Kappa Bridge (about 1.5 hours of light walking, you can stop and rest for half an hour during the walk)
5. 12:30-14:30｜Eat or rest near Kappa Bridge and visit souvenir shops
6. 14:30｜Arrived at Kappa Bridge Visitor Center and prepared to board the return bus
7. 14:30～15:30｜Return to Kamikochi Bus Terminal and take the shuttle bus back to Hirayu
8. 16:00｜Transfer to Nohi Bus from Hirayu to Takayama
9. Around 17:10｜Arrived at Takayama Station, ending a day of healing journey!

Overview of transportation options (Takayama ⇆ Kamikochi)
Departure point: Takayama Nohi Bus Center (next to JR Takayama Station)
Takayama → Hirayu Onsen (about 1 hour)
Hirayu Onsen → Kamikochi (about 30-40 minutes)
※Private vehicles cannot enter Kamikochi. You need to take a dedicated shuttle bus or taxi.

Recommended Tickets:
You can purchase the "Takayama-Kamikochi Round Trip Ticket", which includes two bus trips and a discount.
It is recommended to make reservations in advance (especially during the cherry blossom or autumn leaf seasons).

Opening period:
From about mid-April to November 15 every year (closed in winter)

Tips:
It is best to leave early in the morning to avoid crowds and fog.
Wear waterproof hiking shoes + onion-style wearing method, the temperature changes greatly in spring

Bring your own drinking water and simple energy packs, as there are no convenience stores in Kamikochi
