On the first day, I arrived in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture, and strolled through the charming Sanmachi Suji old streets. The Edo-era townhouses are well-preserved, with the aroma of sake and the sweetness of wagashi mingling in the air. For lunch, I chose Hida beef sushi, whose melt-in-your-mouth flavor is unforgettable. In the afternoon, I visited Takayama Jinya to experience the atmosphere of the old government office. At night, I stayed at a hot spring inn, soaking in the onsen while gazing at the starry sky.
On the second day, I took a bus to Kamikochi early in the morning. Upon arrival, the crystal-clear Azusa River and the reflection of snow-capped mountains greeted me, creating a scene as beautiful as a painting. I walked along the riverside trail to Kappa Bridge and then headed towards Myojin Pond, passing through birch forests and alpine flowers along the way. The mountain breeze was so refreshing that it made me lose track of time.
On the third day, I returned to Takayama and visited the morning market, where I bought pickles and handcrafted wooden carvings as souvenirs. Finally, I indulged in Hida beef cuisine one last time, marking the perfect end to my three-day, two-night journey.
