The Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi Museum of Architecture is located in Kanazawa, a city that preserves a rich architectural heritage and is the center of architectural culture in Japan. The museum was built to commemorate Yoshiro Taniguchi (1904–1979), a famous architect born in Kanazawa who played a major role in promoting the preservation of traditional architecture, and his son Yoshio Taniguchi, who designed the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York.

Inside, there is a model of "Yushintei", a banquet and tea room designed in the sukiya (tea ceremony house) style. This room was part of the government guest house in the Akasaka Palace. The creation of a completely realistic model shows the craftsman's expertise and advanced construction techniques. The space in this room can see the changing seasons through the large, long glass panels, which are beautiful and unique in their own way.

The architecture of the museum combines traditional ideas and modern technology. The building is inspired by the tiered hillsides, with eaves and openings that reflect both the contemporary and the traditional. The simple yet intricate exterior walls of dry-laid granite and aluminum tube sunshades filter natural light into the interior.

The museum also features special exhibitions that showcase Japanese architectural culture, particularly the Hiroma Room and tea rooms from the Akasaka Imperial Guest House. Visitors can experience the traditional atmosphere and appreciate the beauty of the architecture that reflects the harmony of preservation and development.

The museum is located in the southern part of Kanazawa city center, just a five-minute walk from the Nishi-Chaya geisha district. And it is easily accessible from Kanazawa Station by taxi or bus.
