[Ishikawa Prefecture] Utasu Shrine, one of the five Kanazawa shrines with ties to the Maeda family of the Kaga domain

Ishikawa Prefecture is home to "Utasu Shrine" in Kanazawa ⛩️
This place is located deep inside "Higashi Chaya District," one of the three teahouse districts in Kanazawa, where historical scenery and atmospheric streets representing Kanazawa culture stand side by side 👀

This shrine is enshrined as a god of protection at the foot of Mt. Utatsu, located in the northeast, which is the demon's direction of Kanazawa Castle.

It has been enshrined in Kanazawa since the Edo period, and is one of the five shrines "Kanazawa Five Shrines" that were carefully protected by the Maeda family of the Kaga domain 🥸

At the back of the temple grounds, there is also a historic site called "Toshitsune's Sake Bar Well," which is said to have healed the illness of Maeda Tsunanori, the fifth lord of the Kaga domain!

And the best part is... under the worship hall, there is an unexpected 🥷

1. Take the "Castle Town Kanazawa Tour Bus" from JR Kanazawa Station,
get off at "Hashiba-cho" and walk for about 8 minutes

2. Take the "Kanazawa Flat Bus Lumber Route" from JR Kanazawa Station,
get off at "Umenohashi" and walk for about 5 minutes
