There are two cultural attractions hidden by the quiet Hyo Pond in Kanazawa Kenrokuen: the elegant "Yugao-tei" and the intriguing "Bo Ya Jue Qin Hand Water Bowl". Yugao-tei was a tea pavilion set up by tea masters in the Edo period. Its simple wooden structure and thatched roof blend into nature, making it an ideal corner for appreciating the changing seasons of the garden; especially in summer, yugao flowers can often be seen blooming in front of the pavilion, hence its name.
The hand water bowl next to it is engraved with the words "Bo Ya Jue Qin", which is taken from the story of Zhong Ziqi, a close friend of Boya in ancient China, who stopped playing his zither after his death. It symbolizes the difficulty of finding a soulmate, and also conveys the elegance and poetry of Kenrokuen.
Passing by this place, it seems that you are not just looking at the scenery, but are in dialogue with history.
