Kaohsiung Hanshin Arena Department Store-Din Tai Fung Xiao Long Bao

Today, I dined at Din Tai Fung at Hanshin Arena in Kaohsiung. I ordered Shaoxing Drunken Chicken, Pork Rib Fried Rice, Original Xiao Long Bao, Loofah and Shrimp Xiao Long Bao, Truffle and Fresh Mushroom Soup, and Red Bean Sponge Cake. It was a truly delightful experience!

Shaoxing Drunken Chicken: The chicken was springy with a hint of wine, cool and refreshing, and the seasoning wasn't overpowering. It was both appetizing and refreshing.

Pork Rib Fried Rice: The fried rice grains were distinct, the egg flavor was rich, and the spare ribs were crispy and juicy. You can also choose brown rice, which is incredibly satisfying.

Original Xiao Long Bao: The skin was thin, the filling tender, and the broth was bursting with juice. The filling was perfectly seasoned, making each one a mouthful.

Loofah and Shrimp Xiao Long Bao: The sweetness of the loofah and the springiness of the shrimp were a perfect combination, and the broth had a subtle hint of vegetable fragrance, making it a truly amazing experience.

Truffle and Fresh Mushroom Soup: The truffle was large and fragrant, the mushrooms were rich, and the broth was refreshing yet layered. It was an elegant treat. Red Bean Sponge Cake: The sponge cake is soft and sweet, yet not cloying. The fluffy texture paired with the sweetness of the red beans makes for a perfect dessert.

A lightbulb moment struck me while eating the Shaoxing Drunken Chicken! I poured a bowl of fried rice, doused it with about three tablespoons of Shaoxing wine chicken sauce, and paired it with the drunken chicken! 😍 It was absolutely delicious! I was completely in love! A perfect bowl of Shaoxing wine fried rice. The aroma of the wine as I ate the rice first tantalized my sense of smell, followed by the rich Shaoxing flavor on my palate. Paired perfectly with the fried rice! Absolutely amazing! 👍

Overall, Din Tai Fung's dishes are exquisite, and the service is as attentive and thoughtful as ever. Every dish showcases the brand's attention to detail, from the folding of the xiaolongbao to the perfect cooking time of the fried rice.
