Karuizawa Stone Church

The Stone Church is a unique building in Karuizawa. Designed by American designer Kendrick Kellogg, it is based on the non-church philosophy of missionary Kenzo Uchimura. I visited the church and was deeply impressed by its beauty and meaning. 🪆🪆

The church's exterior is a large arched structure composed of stone and glass. Stone symbolizes masculine strength, while glass symbolizes feminine softness. The fusion of the two symbolizes the harmony of love. The interior uses glass to let in natural light, allowing the church to transform with the time of day and the seasons, showcasing the wonders of nature and the diversity of life.

I believe the Stone Church is a building imbued with art and philosophy. It is not only a place of worship, but also a space for peaceful coexistence with nature. I felt a sense of tranquility and peace here, and gained a deeper understanding of Kenzo Uchimura's non-church philosophy. I think this was a very meaningful visit, and it left me with a deeper impression and love for Karuizawa. 💟💟💟
