Day trip sightseeing around Karuizawa Station

Old Karuizawa is about a 20-minute walk from Karuizawa Station.

I explored several churches while strolling around. The area is a summer retreat, making it very comfortable to spend time here. A short walk reveals lush greenery, which feels refreshing.

Walnut dipping soba: 1,430 yen
The famous soba restaurant "Kawakami-an" is located near the entrance of Old Karuizawa Ginza Street. On Thursday, July 17th, I arrived around 11:30 AM and had to wait for 30 minutes. However, when I checked around 2:30 PM, there was no line, so if you want to avoid waiting, visiting at a slightly different time might be better.
I ordered their famous walnut dipping sauce soba! The sauce was creamy and not overly sweet, making it easy to enjoy. Most people around me were ordering tempura soba.
