⸻
🔶 Kasama Inari Shrine
• Founded in 651, it is one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan and is loved for its blessings of bountiful harvests and prosperous business .
• The shrine grounds feature a 400-year-old wisteria trellis, a large vermilion torii gate, and a path lined with shopping streets, allowing you to enjoy the changing faces of the seasons .
• You can enjoy religious ceremonies throughout the year, such as the **Chrysanthemum Festival (October to November)**, the Hatsuuma Festival, the Ontae Festival, and Setsubun .
⸻
🔶 Kasama-yaki
• Started in the 1770s during the mid-Edo period, it is characterized by its reddish-brown base and black glaze. Its texture is popular for both everyday use and art.
• Currently, there are more than 300 active potters, and many young artists are trying their hand at pottery while preserving tradition.
• At Kasama Crafts Hill and the Ibaraki Prefectural Ceramic Art Museum, you can experience pottery such as using a wheel, hand-forming, and painting.
⸻
