Dinosaur-Themed Town | Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum

When you visit Fukui, you can truly feel the town's enthusiasm for dinosaurs 🦖. A massive dinosaur monument stands in front of Fukui Station, captivating both children and adults with its animated movements. Inside the station and along the shopping streets, you'll find dinosaur-themed goods and decorations, making it truly a 'dinosaur town.'

Taking advantage of the opportunity, I decided to visit the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, located about a 30-minute drive from the city in Katsuyama. I purchased tickets online in advance before heading there. Upon entering the expansive exhibition space, you're greeted by a moving Tyrannosaurus, whose sheer presence is overwhelming. The museum features life-sized dinosaur skeletons and an extensive display of fossils excavated in Fukui.

I was particularly impressed by the local exhibits, such as the Fukuiraptor and Fukuisaurus, dinosaurs discovered in Fukui. The town and museum work together to promote dinosaur culture, offering a unique experience of 'dinosaur town' throughout Fukui. This museum is not only a fantastic destination for family trips with children but also an exciting place for adults to enjoy.
