Phra Mae Ya Peak - Sunset Viewpoint

Another popular viewpoint at Khao Luang Sukhothai, where many tourists come to watch the sunset, is the summit of Phra Mae Ya Mountain, 1,200 meters above sea level and 980-1,000 meters from the campsite. There are two trails to choose from: one behind the welfare shop towards Pha Chom Prong, and the other behind the restrooms towards Khao Phra Chedi. The trail is flat and passes through a large forest. Along the way, you'll find a variety of beautiful plants to admire. It's a pleasant walk, and you won't feel tired at all. There's a steep climb to the summit, but it's quite steep.

The summit is not very wide, and there are rocky outcrops to sit and admire the view. This spot offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding area and is also a stunning sunset viewing point. There are many Indian gooseberry trees along the way.

The summit is quite windy and cold, so it's recommended to bring a windbreaker. This steep cliff requires caution when taking photos. If you're watching the sunset, bring a flashlight and drinking water. The walk back is quite dark.
