Khiva: A Scene Straight Out of a Movie

Located in western Uzbekistan, Khiva was the capital of the Khanate of Khiva, which existed from the early 16th century to the early 20th century.
This city has long flourished as a gateway to the Karakum Desert, and Ichan Kala in particular retains a vivid resemblance to its original landscape. 🩵
The bazaar here is like something out of a movie, and compared to Samarkand and Bukhara, you can find affordable prices.
The suzani in particular have unique patterns that are different from those in other regions, allowing you to compare and choose from a variety of regional styles.
The suzani in Bukhara are often black, giving them a more mature feel than the brighter-colored varieties!
Prices are also reasonable to start with, so you can bargain a little as a courtesy and avoid being ripped off.
Also, while in Khiva, be sure to try the freshly baked naan bread, baked right before your eyes. 🫓
It has a distinctive pattern and is piping hot and delicious, so I highly recommend it!
