Khwarezm

Khiva was once the capital of Khwarezm and the Khiva Khanate, with a history dating back to the 6th century BC. Although it has been ravaged by wars many times, it still preserves many historical buildings, such as the Juma Mosque, the Kunya Ark Fortress, the beautifully unfinished Kalta Minor Minaret, and the Islam Khoja Minaret.
That said, it is not recommended to just follow a checklist to visit these sites. The proper way to experience the ancient city is to stroll leisurely within it, as the city is small and the entire city is listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. Some streets and alleys give you a feeling of time travel, making you feel like you are in a movie scene in an instant.
