🌳🖼️Located in Ubon Ratchathani Province, the waterfall's distinctive feature is the water falling through large holes in the rocks, formed by erosion. The sparkling white mist that passes through the rocks is a significant attraction of Saeng Chan Waterfall. It's best visited during the rainy season. Located in Ban Thung Na Muang, Na Pho Klang Subdistrict, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, the waterfall's name comes from the water's shape as it flows through the holes. Saeng Chan Waterfall, also known as "Sang Chan Waterfall," comes from the mist that flows through the rocks, resembling moonlight. On full moon days, the moonlight shines directly through the holes, creating a beautiful, sparkling effect.
🖼️ The large holes through which the waterfall flows are created by erosion. When heavy rainfall occurs, the stream becomes abundant. The strong and rapid flow of water causes the current to carry pebbles and rocks, leading to some of these pebbles becoming trapped in the holes. As more and more gravel and rocks get stuck in the hole, along with the strong current of water, the pebbles and stones swirl within the hole, causing the hole to expand and widen, eventually breaking through and creating a hole, allowing water to flow down. This creates a waterfall.
🍀🌳The surrounding area is lined with small and large rocks and a variety of trees. It almost resembles a Japanese garden. Below is a cave, where camping is also possible. The best time to visit Saeng Chan Waterfall is during the late rainy season and early winter. The water in the basin in front of Saeng Chan Waterfall is a brown muddy mixture, making it unsuitable for swimming. Therefore, this waterfall is ideal for adventurous travelers and photography enthusiasts.
🖼️🍀 There are no other attractions around Saeng Chan Waterfall, so a visit to this waterfall doesn't take long, only 30 minutes to an hour. Camping is also a great way to enjoy the waterfall. Alternatively, you can visit nearby waterfalls like Thung Na Muang Waterfall. This is another waterfall that flows beneath a rock slab, creating a small waterfall curtain that's worth a visit.
