【Tohoku, Japan】Goshikinuma: Nature’s palette, a crater lake formed by a volcanic eruption

#Lake

Located in Fukushima Prefecture, Tohoku, Japan, Goshiki-numa is one of the most amazing natural wonders in Tohoku. This lake was formed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Bandai a century ago🌋. After the volcanic eruption, the overflowed volcanic material and minerals were deposited in the lakes, giving each lake a unique color. As the seasons change, the color of the lake also changes, presenting more vivid and diverse hues🎨.

The eight brightly colored lakes are linked by a 4-kilometer nature trail, and it’s easy to walk around all eight in just a few hours. Along the way, you can enjoy various wild flowers and moss-covered ancient trees, and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature🥰.

The largest lake is Kunshamen Lake. In addition to renting boats to cruise the lake, many tourists also look for the legendary lucky carp by the lake. I was lucky enough to see it ❤️.

After touring the lake, you can also go to the nearby souvenir shop to buy Fukushima limited souvenirs🛍️.
