
The Anshun Confucian Temple, also known as the " Fuxue Palace , " is located in Hongxueba, northeast of Anshun City, Guizhou Province. Spanning approximately 8,000 square meters, it is a grand, meticulously planned, and elegantly decorated ancient architectural complex. The temple's construction marked the beginning of a 600-year history of educational development in central Guizhou. It has earned the reputation of being " the Holy Temple of Confucianism in Central Guizhou , " " the most exquisite extant Confucian temple in China , " and " a temple of stone carving . "
Built along the gentle slopes of Kongming Hill , the Confucian Temple is symmetrically arranged along its central axis, creating a prefectural-level Confucian temple with a complete system, rigorous layout, well-organized layout, and exquisite craftsmanship. It still retains the original appearance of Ming and Qing Confucian temples and is the most exquisite Confucian temple in existence in China.
In front of the Confucian Temple stands a screen wall, shaped like a giant door screen. At the entrance, there are the " Li Gate " and the " Yi Road , " both gates with hanging flowers. Between them stands a wall of carved stone figures and stone flowers, known as the " Palace Wall ." Above , a horizontal plaque reads , " Palace Wall Several Rens . " At the foot of the left side of the wall, a strip of stone tablet stands, inscribed with the words " Civil and Military Officials, Soldiers, and Civilians Disembark Here, " known as the " Dismounting Stele . "
