Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden is a five-minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station, where the JR Shinkansen stops.
As the facility is located on a hill, you can take the elevator or stairs to the ticket office,
and then take the ropeway to the herb garden.
As the name suggests, there are approximately 200 types of plants blooming in 12 gardens, including seasonal flowers and herbs, and tropical plants in the greenhouse.
In the greenhouse, or glasshouse, there are plants that houseplant lovers will love, growing to unprecedented sizes.
In the summer, you can enjoy the many sunflowers and hammocks in the shade.
As it is outdoors, some areas can be hot, but the lush trees make it relatively comfortable.
There are many slopes and a fair amount of walking, so comfortable shoes are recommended.
Time: 10:00 AM - 8:30 PM (depending on the season)
Price: ¥2,000 (round-trip ropeway ride + admission fee)
Location: 1-4-3 Kitano-cho, Chuo-ku, Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture
Access: Approximately a 5-minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station on the Kobe Municipal Subway
Approximately a 5-minute walk from Shin-Kobe Station
*The Veranda Kobe Cafe Lounge*
This cafe has a great view near the greenhouse zone. It's a great place to take a break and quench your hunger.
They serve original herbal teas and cakes, so while the prices are relatively high, the flavors are absolutely delicious!
Their cake varieties also change based on seasonal delicacies.
When I visited, the melon sandwich was a popular choice.
The lightly sweet cream makes it easy to eat!
