Kobe Kitano Ijinkan Street: A hillside street with a European feel

#TravelGuide

About a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya Station in downtown Kobe,
you'll come across Kitano Ijinkan Street, stretching out over a hill.
This area was once home to foreign merchants and diplomats during the Meiji period.
The brick buildings and Western-style mansions remain intact,
creating a feeling reminiscent of a small European village.

The streets are lined with cafes, souvenir shops, and galleries,
each displaying interiors and artifacts from a different country.
The red-roofed "Kazamidori Mansion" is a prime example,
and a popular photo spot.

While the path is a bit steep, it's a pleasant stroll to explore.
The bright exterior walls stand out during the day, and the streetlights illuminate the street at night, creating a completely different atmosphere.
This is a walking course that allows you to experience both Kobe's history and its Western sensibility.
