When you need a peaceful escape with ocean views and a touch of history, Katsurahama in Kochi is just the place. With its crashing waves, scenic coastline, and laid-back local spots, it’s perfect for a slow and easy day.
I started by walking along the beach at Katsurahama—the view of the Pacific stretching out in every direction is worth the trip alone. Just nearby is Ryuo-gu Shrine, tucked into the rocks and filled with seaside charm.
A short stroll brought me to Katsurahama Aquarium, a cozy spot with quirky exhibits and friendly animals. Not the biggest, but full of character—and perfect if you like places with a local touch.
For lunch, I stopped at Katsurahama Bishokukan Kami and ordered the diced steak set. Juicy, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent.
Why I recommend Katsurahama:
・The ocean view is stunning, and there’s a calm atmosphere you can’t help but love
・You can enjoy history, sea life, and great food all in one small, scenic area
