Koh Lanta in Krabi, a place you'll fall in love with upon arrival, offers an experience with great value for money

Compared to the bustling Bangkok, Koh Lanta at the southernmost tip of Krabi province is a hidden gem, where the island's ecology is pure and natural, and humans coexist harmoniously with the flora and fauna. Lanta is an outlying island of Krabi, and in the evening, many macaques 🐒 can be seen at the pier, picking sea treasures in pairs on the shallow beaches.

Koh Lanta is located on the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea, where you can witness incredibly beautiful sunsets. Many couples from Europe and America choose to honeymoon here. I think the hour from the 'prelude orange' to the 'finale purple' of the sunset is the most romantic time of the day, where you can soak in the hotel's infinity pool with a drink in hand, and the tipsy moments allow you to experience even more...

We stayed at the Twin Lotus Resort & Spa, which is just a three-minute walk from the room to the beach. The two-kilometer coastline features long-tailed white sandy beaches that are usually found in the Maldives, with extremely fine and soft sand. At low tide in the evening, the beach is full of crab holes. If you slow down your breathing, stay still, and they will come out to move around, creating a spectacular and interesting scene.

At night, some people like to swim against the current in the sea, letting the waves hit them, while others like to treasure hunt. It's no exaggeration, there are as many fist-sized spotted conchs as you want, and at that moment, I quietly took out my phone to search for recipes... The evening sea breeze is slightly cool, and the climate is much more comfortable than in Bangkok. Everyone sits on the beach chatting, chasing and playing, stargazing, and reluctant to leave.

Every morning, you are awakened by various bird calls, and lizards stroll leisurely in the bushes. The buffet breakfast at Twin Lotus is very rich, allowing you to leisurely enjoy a brunch while looking out at the sea. The Thai and Western dishes served in the restaurant are milder in taste and not as strong as the local restaurants (Southern Thai food is very spicy).

The hotel offers morning yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the gym is adequately equipped. The Spa here is not to be missed, with pure plant extracts used in both the treatments and the Twin Lotus toiletries. I chose my favorite frangipani essential oil.

This time, due to filming work, I only went out to sea for a half-day snorkeling trip to Koh Rok, which is beautiful and one of Thailand's top clear water seas. If I come again, I want to rent a scooter to go around the island to see monkeys, visit the old town of Lanta, stroll in the mangroves, and kayak to watch birds.

Most importantly, the resorts here have not been overrun by wealthy tourists, offering incredible value for money! The Twin Lotus Resort & Spa where we stayed, with a garden villa room including breakfast during Songkran, was just over six hundred per night, and the Spa prices are also very affordable, with professional and attentive service. This hotel does not accept guests under 16 years old, making it extremely suitable for couples to enjoy alone.
