AirAsia round-trip from Shanghai Pudong to Kota Kinabalu for CNY 1,383. The flight from Shanghai takes a little over 4 hours. If you take a red-eye flight, you can see the sunrise. If you want to see the sunrise, you can choose a seat on the left side of the plane.

❗️AirAsia does not include checked baggage. Each person is limited to 7 kg. When we departed from Pudong, we each had a backpack, so we didn't weigh our bags. On the return trip, they weighed our bags at the boarding gate. If you don't plan to check your bags, you should consider the weight of your luggage. It's best to leave some space for souvenirs.

🌀Accommodation
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, which cost about CNY 1,200 for two nights. The hotel upgraded us to an executive suite. Check-in is at 3 pm. The hotel is close to Gaya Street and Suria Sabah, both within a 10-minute walk.

🌀We went to Second Beach to watch the sunset two days in a row. The sunset was beautiful every day, but it was a pity that we didn't see the red clouds because of the rain.
🌀Massage
We mainly went out to eat and shop, and we only went to Bella for a massage. You can call to make a reservation. It cost CNY 560 for six people, but the owner gave us a discount and only charged us CNY 500. You can tell the staff if you want a soft or hard massage.

I did a little research, but not much, so I only had one cup of Tea Live. We each ordered a cup, and overall, they were all on the sweet side.

This was the best restaurant we ate at. 🤤🤤
There were six of us, and we ordered five dishes and two main courses. The wet butter tiger prawns and salted egg yolk crabs are priced by the piece, and they were really delicious. The plum chicken was sweet and sour, but not too sweet, and it was fried before being cooked. The signature fried tofu and garlic water spinach were average. The fried tofu contains fish. We ordered fried rice and fried noodles as the main courses. The fried rice was very fragrant, and the rice wasn't too dry. The fried rice and fried noodles both contained small octopus and shrimp.
👉🏻Philippines Market
We went to the Philippines Market and bought longan and durian. Longan was MYR 5/kg. We only wanted to buy five to try, but the vendor grabbed five for us to eat, so we felt embarrassed and bought MYR 5 worth. Luckily, we bought more, because everyone thought they were delicious. They were soft and chewy, juicy, and sweet and sour without being too greasy. Durian was MYR 25/kg. The small durian we bought on Gaya Street the night before wasn't enough, and the big durian was a little overripe. The durian we bought at the Philippines Market had a thin skin and a high flesh yield.

We ordered sweet and sour pork, soy sauce chicken, beef, and spicy shrimp. The beef was delicious.
