[Tokyo/Kiyosumi Shirakawa🇯🇵] An open space renovated from a warehouse ☁️ The Cream of the Crop Coffee

The Cream of the Crop Coffee Kiyosumi Shirakawa Factory's charm lies in its history as perhaps the first roastery in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, now known as "coffee town." Its spacious, warehouse-like space offers exquisitely crafted specialty coffee.

The riverside building, which appears to have been a former lumberyard, exudes a uniquely stylish atmosphere, blending a factory-like feel with the high ceilings and massive roasting machine housing it, and modern cafe elements. ✨

Likely named "Cream of the Crop," this shop meticulously roasts the finest coffee beans using an American-made Loring roaster. A sweet, fragrant aroma permeates the shop, and the beans are pulled from large cans, ground to order, and hand-brewed right before your eyes. The coffee, characterized by its mellow taste, captures the umami and sweetness of fresh beans. In particular, the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, with its fruity aroma and just the right amount of acidity, has long been a beloved signature of this shop. 🤍

The coffee itself is of such high quality that even a café au lait can rival the richness and aroma of milk. Another appealing feature is the ability to choose your favorite coffee from a menu that lists the acidity, richness, and sweetness characteristics. The shop also focuses on selling coffee beans, allowing you to enjoy the best flavor at home. The shop is furnished with benches and tables, creating a relaxing atmosphere, allowing you to spend a comfortable time listening to the sound of the roaster. Additionally, some stores also feature a gallery for Betjeman & Barton, a popular Parisian tea brand, where you can enjoy a wide variety of high-quality flavored teas in addition to coffee, a delight for both coffee and tea lovers.
