Mount Koya is a sacred place of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism that was established by Kobo Daishi at the beginning of the Heian period.

It is said that the name "Kongobu-ji Temple" was given by the Daishi from the sutra "Kongobu-rokaku Issai Yugayugikyou".

The title is a collection of characters written by Kobo Daishi himself
