Yes, it can get crowded at times. And no, this is not the cleanest beach in Thailand. But when you're just looking for a lazy day, Ao Nang Beach is still my beach of choice. It's easy to access, there are plenty of restaurants and bars around, and the beach is big enough for you to be able to find a secluded spot. There are many shops alongside the street to the beach where its a heaven, plenty for shopping for souvenirs, food, drinks, music,massage and tailors stretching maybe a good 2Km or so.
A definitely not to miss place. Very vibrant at night with the pubs and clubs and many street food stalls too.

You can take a boat ride to the nearby islands or beaches too or just chill with a drink watching people and their activities.

The beach and the water does not look inviting for swimming and didn't see anyone swimming too.

Many types of public, private abd self hire transportations are available besides walking. A great retreat for anyone
