Looking for something unique and off the tourist trail in Krabi? Visit the Giant Catfish Farm, a quiet and family-friendly attraction just outside Ao Nang. Nestled in a lush, tropical setting, this small farm offers a relaxing break from the beaches and a closer look at rural Thai life.
What to Expect
The main highlight is the pond filled with massive Mekong catfish. You can feed them with pellets or bread — watching them surface is both fun and impressive. Kids especially love seeing the giant fish splash around. And of course the star of this place is the Arapaima is a species of arapaima native to the basin of the Amazon River. The species is among the largest known freshwater fish.
But this isn’t just about fish. The owner is a real artist. The entrance looks like a stylish Thai reggae bar with lots of authentic stuff and paintings. The farm also has a shaded garden, small enclosures with birds and rabbits, and a peaceful path lined with tropical plants and flowers. Amazing place worth visiting.

How to Get There
