Krabi Ritz-Carlton Retreat

Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is one of the must-visit hotels in Krabi. It offers exceptional service and an outstanding property, as many visitors have unanimously praised. Although the room rates during the high season can be quite steep, they are worth it for the stunning views and the reduced chance of rain (though there might be a slight chance). I was fortunate not to encounter any rain during my stay, which was my first time here.
I booked a Beach Villa and specifically requested Room 9, a Beach Villa Oceanfront View. This room type is conveniently located near the main pool and restaurant, eliminating the need for a buggy.
The room was beautiful with great views and a medium size—not as large as other room types, but the view and the round jacuzzi pool with powerful jets for a relaxing back massage made it worthwhile. (This is the only villa with a round pool.)
Every room comes with a personal butler to assist throughout the stay. I was lucky to have Khun Mon as my butler, who provided exceptional service from the moment I arrived until I left for the airport. If I have the chance to stay here again, I would definitely request the same butler. However, all the staff I encountered, whether at the restaurants or along the walkways, provided excellent service.
The hotel also offers a variety of complimentary activities. I tried some of them, such as:
- Cocktail Class
- Iced Milk Tea Class
- Sunset Cocktail with canapés (unlimited drinks for one hour, available on select days)
Additionally, the hotel provides a free boat trip to Hong Island for swimming. I highly recommend this as the beach in front of the hotel is not suitable for swimming due to the rocky terrain. Hong Island, on the other hand, is beautiful with clear water.
I tried almost all the hotel’s restaurants except the one by the pool, as it was too hot. The breakfast quality was excellent, featuring sparkling wine and a DIY cocktail station. This trip exceeded my expectations by more than 100%.
