There is a new discovery at the photo spot in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur! This place with history - Chan's College, really feels like a second of crossing when you walk into it😮. The college was founded in 1896 by local overseas Chinese Chen Xiulian and others, and was directly based on the Chen Family Temple in Guangzhou. It is the only traditional Lingnan style ancestral hall building in Malaysia!
Chan's College has a classic layout of three entrances and two courtyards. The building is symmetrical on the left and right, and the layout is strict! Ceramic sculpture, wood carving, stone carving and painting are all in one, full of traditional art atmosphere✨. The Guangdong Shiwan ceramic sculpture on the roof ridge is colorful and full of auspicious meanings. It is beautifully crafted and is definitely a work of art!
The college is essentially the ancestral hall of the Chen family. The back hall enshrines the statues of Emperor Shun and the ancestors of the Chen family. In addition, the museum also has a collection of precious artifacts about the college, history fans must see!
As a national cultural heritage, Chan's College has not only witnessed the migration and cultural transmission of overseas Chinese, but also preserved the essence of Lingnan architecture. 📷
