Textile Museum - Kuching, Malaysia

There is a textile museum in the center of Kuching city. The building in which it is located is decorated with intricately shaped cast-iron gratings. Built in 1907, the building served as a hospital, and during World War II it was occupied by the Japanese military.

There are showcases in which the traditional clothes of the peoples of Sarawak are presented. In particular, here you can see their festive costumes, which were worn for various solemn ceremonies. In addition to clothing, the museum houses samples of traditional songket and ikat fabrics.

Address: Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, 93000 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
