This is Kumamoto Castle, and the entrance fee is 800 yen. We started our trip in Fukuoka and stayed near Hakata Station. From there, we took the Shinkansen for about 40 minutes. It's highly recommended to purchase a JR Pass as it offers great value for traveling.
Once you arrive in Kumamoto, head to the information center to buy a 1-day pass. If you plan to use the tram more than three times, the pass is worth it, costing only 500 yen.
To visit Kumamoto Castle, the entrance fee is 800 yen. Get off at Kumamoto Castle/City Hall Station and follow the signs. It's just a 5-10 minute walk.
