Story / History
• This archway was built in the early Yuan Dynasty, around 1280, to commemorate Saiyid Ajall Shams al-Din Umar, the ruler of Yunnan during the Yuan period. It was commissioned at that time.

• The purpose of its construction was to honor the good governance of Saiyid Ajall, who played a crucial role in organizing and unifying the various ethnic groups in Yunnan.



Location / How to Get There
• Located in downtown Kunming, Jinma Biji Square (Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Arch pedestrian street).
• Getting There:
• Bus: Buses 120, 137, and 152 go to Zhongaifang Archway Station.
• Metro / Subway: Line 1 or Line 2 → Get off at Dongfeng Square Station → Walk for about 15 minutes to the archway.
