From Kushiro Station to Kushiro Shitsugen Station

We head to Kushiro-Shitsugen Station on a worn-out train from the JNR era.

Kushiro Station is 60 years old, and if it was in Honshu it would be rebuilt soon, but...
Considering JR Hokkaido's financial situation, it looks like it's going to remain like this for the time being.

An announcement before arriving at Kushiro Station asks you to hand your ticket over to the driver. But if you do, you won't be able to pass through the automatic ticket gates at Kushiro Station, so be careful.

Also, there are a lot of bugs at Kushiro-Shitsugen Station. Bring some bug repellent with you.
