The Duku Highway, or Dushanzi-Kuqa Highway (獨庫公路), is one of China's most spectacular and scenic roads, winding 561 kilometers through the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang. Praised for its breathtaking and diverse landscapes, it is only open for a few months each year due to heavy snow and ice at high altitudes. A drive along the Duku Highway offers an experience of all four seasons in one day. The scenery changes dramatically, from snow-capped mountains and glaciers to lush grasslands, dense forests, canyons, and desert landscapes.
