[I want to try this at least once in my life!] Pottery experience in Gion, Kyoto

This pottery class has a long history dating back to the Edo period.

It's very interesting because you can make your own vessel!

There are three courses for pottery wheel experience👇

・Light: Make a small cup, 1 piece (¥2500)
・Standard: S~L size, 1 piece (¥3600)
・Zuiko: S~L size, 2 pieces (¥6000)

We recommend the standard or zuiko course.

It takes about 30 minutes to make one piece.

It's over pretty quickly, so if you want to experience pottery to the fullest, the zuiko course might be a good choice.

Yellow and brown are glossy and smooth to the touch.

The other three colors are smooth to the touch.

You can add a border as an option.

Add 160 yen to the price.

The coloring will be done by the staff at the store.

Recommended vessel shapes

Flat plates are relatively simple to make, so they may not be enough.

Recommended vessels that can be made by inflating, widening, or adding variations are tall vessels such as bowls and cups.

Or maybe rounded plates are good.

Caution

It's a good idea to cut your nails!

I didn't wear gloves, so I got in a lot of water and it was a bit difficult to wash them afterwards.

I think the level of satisfaction varies depending on the staff.

If you go to an older staff member, they will make more changes...

I wish I could have tried more changes myself...

Younger staff might be recommended!

Also, there are only two seats, so it's better to go with an even number of people!
