Fushimi Inari Shrine (伏見稲荷大社; Fushimiinari-taisha) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god Inari, the god of agriculture, located in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, Japan. This shrine is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Japan. The shrine is located at the foot of a mountain at an altitude of 233 meters above sea level, which also has the same name as Mt. Inari. Around the foot of the mountain are many small shrines along a 4-kilometer distance, which can be visited on foot in just 2 hours.
However, if you walk at night, the atmosphere is very quiet and desolate, especially if you travel alone. We cannot walk all the way because even Japanese people or even Westerners who come to walk at night with friends, walking 2 or more people, still give up and walk back because of the distance, darkness, and very quiet and desolate atmosphere.
