For a limited time only, from April to December, the Kyoto Aquarium will extend its opening hours until 8pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays [Night Aquarium]

The creatures in the aquarium go to sleep when the lights are turned off, so the main way to enjoy the aquarium after 6pm is to observe the sleeping creatures.

Quizzes and panel displays about the sleep of creatures are also available.
